HIV/AIDS Home Visit

Our teams visit families living with HIV/AIDS in over 60 slum communities in and aorund Bangkok. This family, comprising only a father and daughter, is not unusual. The father is living with AIDS and the mother has died. The daughter was born healthy without HIV. Her only sibling, born with HIV, has recently died. Together father and daughter live beside their Aunt and cousins in a squatter slum of shacks. In providing basic homecare for the father, we also look after his family welfare, bringing dry food, vitamins, soaps, and other necessities on every visit. Recently we rebuilt their shack. And, whatever else we provide, the daughter must go to school! We fund all costs - transportation, books, uniforms, and lunch - to keep the daughter in school. All photos by Chawalit Kumsatok.
